Tree of Life Preschool
We are proud to offer a 3 day a week, Monday, Wednesday, & Friday Kindergarten-ready program for children 4-5 years old starting in Fall! The talented Tabitha Simmons is our certified Preschool teacher and she is assisted by Leigha Semones. They combine hands on learning in the classroom with our children's programs, "Music Mondays" kids worship with Ted Keys, "Word Wednesdays" bible stories with Leigha Semones, and "Fantastic Fridays" books, poems, and guitar music with Allison Keys.
Tree of Life Preschool uses My Father's Word Kindergarten curriculum. It includes reading, math, science, social studies, and Bible. We start off sounding out letters and counting and at the end of the year our PreK students will be adding and reading short words!

All learning is multi-sensory, combining worksheets, outdoor experiences, art time, oral work, movable alphabet, flashcards, and lots of hands-on activities.
Each week includes a features a classic read aloud book with related activities plus an “outdoor time” activity.
Math is often integrated in lessons; for example, sorting leaves by color and size or cutting an apple in half. Skills covered include shapes, comparing and sequencing, measuring, calendar, money, graphs, fractions, time, counting, writing numbers, and an introduction to addition and subtraction.

For example, Week 13 teaches about insects, emphasizing the concept of working hard (diligence). Ants, bees, and ladybugs are used as examples. Students learn the “A-a-Apple” song, and they learn the short i sound for insect. Children either set up a ant hill and go outside and make guided observations about ants, watching insects at work.

Many learning activities use textured letters , tactile activities (e.g., finger jello cut into letter shapes, pancakes formed as letters), and verbal responses. Simple science experiments, craft projects, and literature are built into the lessons.

Enrollment in Tree of Life Preschool Program is $250.00 monthly September through May. A $50.00 annual materials fee covers a Kindergarten Workbook to use in class and art supplies (such as clay, watercolor paints, and paintbrushes, tempera paints, and colored pencils).
